"I love being a mentor for the youth. When I am not mentoring I am busy taking over Europe! I love skylines and am obsessed with collecting souvenirs."

Chioma

Blogger, Artist, Educator

Chioma Ossai is a pianist and poet from New Jersey who is currently based in Berlin, Germany. Her mission is to simply tell inviting stories through poetry, music, and blogging with the hope to evolve, share, and inspire others to write stories of their own. As a young artist, she always had a passion for the arts. So much, that she became a classically trained pianist and received her Bachelor of Music at Montclair State University in Music Education.

Currently she is working on her upcoming book "Becoming Chi: The Journey to Self-Discovery," which will be published in Summer 2021. Poetry was her first passion and helped her to express, create, and discover the person she is today. It was a therapeutic art that allowed her to speak through writing when words often failed.

In 2017, after she had the opportunity to travel to Ghana to study traditional West African music, her passion for storytelling became evident and she began documenting her experiences through her writing. She has traveled to over 13 countries, and from her colorful narratives captured through poetry, has created a space to evolve artistically with her followers, as well as inspire the world through her stories.

"I tell stories to inspire others to be the author of their own."

Eboni has been traveling since the age of 13, but discovered her true love for the experience when she studied abroad in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This journey sparked her passion for solo traveling.

“I love finding ways to get closer to my truest self and deep dive into self compassion! Traveling solo has allowed me to learn who the other versions of “Eb” are on the other side of FAITH (not fear) on streets I had never before stepped on. That experience in itself is illuminating!”

Ymoni Nicole

Creator of Black Girl's Journey

Ymoni is originally from the Bronx, New York. She acquired her bachelor's degree in Communication with a minor in Anthropology from Oswego State University. Ymoni's passion for traveling was sparked in 2014, when her aunt took her to Spain as an 18th Birthday present. Together with her aunt, Ymoni explored the Gothic Quarters of Barcelona and the enchanted city of Madrid. Ymoni completely feel in love with the Spanish culture.

In 2016, Ymoni returned to Spain to complete a Summer study abroad program. It was about two weeks long. Ymoni journeyed to four cities; Figueres, Girona, Barcelona and Madrid. Once more, Ymoni fell in love with Spain. In 2017, Ymoni migrated to Madrid to teach English as a foreign language. The teaching program she participated in lasted 9 months. Throughout the duration of the program, Ymoni traveled to 6 countries. Ymoni's inspiration for this blog was specifically ignited by her journey to Morocco. The beauty she witnessed in Africa was "like no other." Ymoni became determined to encourage her melanin sisters to journey around the world and capture their experiences through their words and photographs.

"To travel is to live. The world is such a vast place. It's imperative that we see as much as we can. Not only has traveling shifted my perspective about society but it's helped me discover how capable I am."
